• Welcome to the blog of Luxe Fête. We are a full service international event planning and design studio based in Miami, Florida. Global clients seek our services to plan, design, and produce their events. We have executed events around the world, with much of our work featured in national publications. Before channeling my creative energy into this field, I was an attorney at top law firms and clerked for a Federal Judge. It did not take long to realize I’d rather be telling stories by transforming spaces and creating beautiful atmospheres. Stay awhile - we would love to hear from you! Nous aimerions entendre parler de vous! Nos encantaría saber de usted! Gostaríamos muito de ouvir de você! Be sure to also visit our website: www.luxefete.com

Mika and Dan Soho Beach House Wedding

It was love at first sight when Mika told me she was tossing her Jimmy Choos aside to walk barefoot in the sand down the aisle. “It’s a beach wedding, right?” she said. This is my kind of girl, I thought. Smart, ambitious, strong, beautiful, adventurous and carefree because she knows all is as it should be. Mika and her mother, Linda, planned the most incredible destination weekend for friends and family from New York, South Florida, Israel and South Africa.

The festivities started with a starlit rooftop rehearsal dinner at Soho Beach House. How gorgeous did Mika look?

The next morning and the day of the wedding, guests actually showed up for the intense beach bootcamp workout at 9:00 a.m. and the early yoga session that Mika and Dan planned. These two are clearly loved.

The universe brought out its finest Miami Beach blue skies and turquoise water for their ocean front ceremony. You all know how I feel about ceremonies. It’s the most important part of the entire wedding day.  It is the heart and soul. The poem, read by their friend Laura, is so remarkable I must share it with you.

The Invitation by Oriah Mountain Dreamer

It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.

It doesn’t interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive.

It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon. I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow, if you have been opened by life’s betrayals or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain.

I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it, or fade it, or fix it.

I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own; if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful, be realistic, remember the limitations of being human.

It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me is true. I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself. If you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul. If you can be faithless and therefore trustworthy.

I want to know if you can see Beauty even when it is not pretty every day. And if you can source your own life from its presence. I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine, and still stand at the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, ‘Yes.’

It doesn’t interest me to know where you live or how much money you have. I want to know if you can get up after the night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone and do what needs to be done to feed the children.

It doesn’t interest me who you know or how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the centre of the fire with me and not shrink back.

It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away.

I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.

I am reminded each day of my work, and particularly at Mika and Dan’s wedding, the power of love and family. As Dan’s 9-year-old niece said during her toast with tears streaming down her little red face, “I’ve been waiting a long, long time for this.” Best line of the night. Love is eternal.

Enjoy the photos captured ever so beautifully by Ozzy Garcia.
