• Welcome to the blog of Luxe Fête. We are a full service international event planning and design studio based in Miami, Florida. Global clients seek our services to plan, design, and produce their events. We have executed events around the world, with much of our work featured in national publications. Before channeling my creative energy into this field, I was an attorney at top law firms and clerked for a Federal Judge. It did not take long to realize I’d rather be telling stories by transforming spaces and creating beautiful atmospheres. Stay awhile - we would love to hear from you! Nous aimerions entendre parler de vous! Nos encantaría saber de usted! Gostaríamos muito de ouvir de você! Be sure to also visit our website: www.luxefete.com

Urban Prettiness

Mirrors + Pink Peonies + a Loft Space = URBAN PRETTINESS. Remember our Some Pretty Inspiration Pictures post? Let’s just say it really brought out the girly girl in us when we sat down to concept and design for this photo shoot. We dreamed of something as light as air, something glamourous yet raw and something just plain ole’ pretty. To help us tell this urban love story, we called on our friends at Ambrosio Photography, Nuage Designs and Modani. There is nothing like working with the best of the best, and when you see these pictures you’ll understand why.  A lot more details to follow, but in the meanwhile, we are thrilled to share the pictures.

Jim - Wow–how incredibly unique! The whites and pinks are so beautifully light, it seems like everything might float away! The lighting and stools bring that same feeling.

My favorites, though, are the unusual macro shots. It’s one thing to make roses and peonies look beautiful–it’s quite another to do the same with a placemat and a fork!! Amazing!

Meet Dinkinish O’Connor of Purple Reign Wine

Red Wine? White Wine? Kool-Aid? Um, yeah – pass the Kool-Aid please.  I know zilch about wine, except I wish they would add some sugar to it. Of late, a lot of my brides, especially my west coast and international gals, have been importing wine for their special day. Figured I better learn pretty soon. Lucky for me, I am friends with this really cool girl named Dinkinish (pronounced “Din’ ki nesh”) O’Connor. Well, she is more than just a cool girl, she is a fabulous sommelier who has written for publications like Wine Spectator, The Miami Herald (where she authors Wino Confidential – an avant garde wine blog), Conde Nast Traveler, Miami New Times and Time Out New York. Dinky’s ten-year wine career has led her promiscuous palatte across the globe in search of adventures with food and wine. She’s going to help me with my wine adventure too – except in my dining room as opposed to the gnarly vineyards of Bordeaux. She assures me, “there is a bottle for everyone Ma.” I’ll be taking part in Dinky’s innovative Rock Star Wine Tasting, where the wines will be disguised in the identity of a particular rock star. The goal is for me to have no external influences, like how pretty the label is, and hopefully figure out my personal wine palette. She’s done this for companies like Bloomingdales and Ernst and Young. It’s an awesome idea for parties too! Stay tuned to find out which music queen my inner wine channels. Maybe Lady Gaga? Doubt it, but yes, I do love her.

Spice of Love – Incorporating Bright Colors

Bright colors in weddings are not necessarily a new trend. I feel like weddings are a very close cousin of fashion. But like fashion, if done wrong, mixing bright colors will definitely put you in the ranks of tacky bridesmaid dresses, prom-like updos and other spine-tingling faux pas. That was so not the case in our Spice of Love wedding. Natalia chose a gorgeous palette of fuschia and mango orange. All we did was incorporate some white to give it a crisp and fresh feel. BOFA – Breath Of Fresh Air.

Gabe - You have an amazing vision for chic… I hope you can share your gift with the world!

BTJ - BOFA Indeed!!!

Spice of Love – Cultural Nuances

Natalia and Leonard’s Spice of Love wedding was a passport to an explosive world of Indian-chic.  From intricate handcarved signs from India that led guests to the bay-front ceremony, to the Lotus flower appearing as a symbolic gesture throughout the décor, their celebration combined both culture and beauty.  The two were married at a 100-year-old Indian altar table overlooking Miami’s Biscayne Bay. Did I mention how drop dead gorgeous the view of Biscayne Bay is from the Viceroy’s rooftop. Drop. Dead. Gorgeous.
