• Welcome to the blog of Luxe Fête. We are a full service international event planning and design studio based in Miami, Florida. Global clients seek our services to plan, design, and produce their events. We have executed events around the world, with much of our work featured in national publications. Before channeling my creative energy into this field, I was an attorney at top law firms and clerked for a Federal Judge. It did not take long to realize I’d rather be telling stories by transforming spaces and creating beautiful atmospheres. Stay awhile - we would love to hear from you! Destination Wedding Advice: Don’t Jam Pack the Weekend

I chuckled when I read Julie Rothenberg’s recent article in Real Simple Magazine. She was asked: “Am I obligated to attend every single event during my friend’s jam-packed wedding weekend?” In short, her answer was: “hell no.” So let’s flip it to our perspective: Should you plan a jam-packed wedding weekend for your guests? Same answer my friends. You don’t want your guests to begrudgingly feel like they have to spend every minute of their mini-vacation with you and your lovely. Yes they are there to celebrate your union, but that is why there is the rehearsal dinner and wedding. Your guests will appreciate you so much more if you just kindly give them suggestions. A perfect way to offer suggestions is to give your guests a handmade wedding map. On the back of the map why not detail areas of interest or deals you were able to secure in the event they are interested? Here is a really beautiful and fun map for a destination wedding in New Orleans from the Etsy shop of DesignsByRobynLove. Oh how I love Café du Monde! If I got this map, I’d draw big red heart around it.

Destination Wedding: Vero Beach, Miami’s Version of the Hamptons

You know I am always on the lookout for great destination wedding spots. Enter the Treasure Coast of Florida and you’ll find an oceanfront barrier island in Vero Beach. MSNBC dubbed it “Miami’s version of the Hamptons” because of the island’s exclusivity (i.e. $14 million + homes up the wazoo) coupled with its hometown charm. Had a wonderful stay at Emilio and Gloria Estefan’s Hotel, Coste d’ Este, where the vibe was so so haute:

Another one of my favorite stops was The Caribbean Court Boutique Hotel, maybe I’m partial because I am from the beautiful Caribbean island of Haiti, but there was something so authentic and endearing about this place. Was it because Boris, the owner, served me the best vichyssoise (chilled Potato and Leek Soup) I have ever had? Was it the sexy Havana Nights piano bar? Or was it the courtyard that reminded me of Italy? All I know is that I really like the place.

There are tons of things to do and places to visit in the area, like the lush McKee Botanical Gardens or the various activities on the Indian River.

Will return. Hit me up to talk weddings in Vero Beach.

Grace Ormonde’s New Book Is A Must Read

I’ve always taken to heart the saying, “a room without books is like a body without soul.” Let’s just say Grace Ormonde’s new book, “Grace Ormonde Weddings: Being In Love Never Goes Out of Style,” definitely helps fill one’s soul quota. It is rich with stunning imagery and inspiring design – not surprising considering top designers of the world look to Grace Ormonde Wedding Style Magazine as the crème de la crème in the industry. Farah and I were thrilled to meet Grace recently. She is fabulously chic yet plain ol’ down to earth. Her inscription in my advance copy: “Live the Dream. Celebrate Love.” Good stuff.

P.S. Luxe Fête has had the honor of being recommended as a Platinum Event Design and Planning Vendor by Grace Ormonde Wedding Style Magazine!

Wonderland. The Groom

Gentlemen, why not funk it up just a little? Our Alice in Wonderland groom is wearing a vintage tuxedo with a modern fit from the incredibly talented Alexander Nash, a custom tailor. And yes, our model Ralph, is that hot guy from Beyonce’s Baby Boy video and the lead singer of the amazing band Mawon. If you have an opportunity to see them – you must! It’s like world music with the soul of the islands.
