When looking for “Leila’s” dress we knew we wanted something punky. Nothing less would do for a bride who is sweet, bold and yearns to make a deliberate fashion statement. Did we find our punky dress? Nope. We found something better: C. Madeleine’s Vintage Boutique in North Miami Beach, Florida. This store is no doubt “one of the fashion wonders of the world.” One of the first things we spotted in this treasure trove was an AMAZING vintage Dolce & Gabanna ballet-inspired two piece. The white lace corset, topped with a large ethereal flower, is a perfect compliment to the airy tea-length tulle skirt. We couldn’t think of a better way to edge it up than to add black accents a la the Madonna to Sean Penn wedding dress. A black fascinator, black fingerless gloves, black sash and black patent leather Louboutins, brought our punky look to life. We can totally see Leila telling Jake, “Dance Me to the End of Love” while rockin’ this wedding dress.
P.S. Be sure to check back later this week when we chat with Madeleine Kirsh, of C. Madeleine’s Vintage Boutique. She. is. so. cool. Vogue called her store “Miami’s best kept secret,” but clearly all the designers and celebrities know the deal. I just missed Michael Kors by fifteen minutes on my last visit! Dang!
